Spec to production
Greenfield builds

Custom Web & Software Development

You have a specification or product idea no off-the-shelf tool covers. We build it as a web platform, internal tool, integration or custom WordPress plugin, documented so your team can run it.

BRIEF: BUILD-02 PIPELINE: ACTIVE

A spec and no spare engineers

Founders and engineering leads at small and mid-sized companies who need software built and lack the people to build it, whether they hold a signed-off specification or just a two-paragraph idea.

If your platform runs and earns money but has become slow or difficult to change, Web Platform Modernisation fits better.

  • Our spec is signed off; nobody here can build it.
  • The plugin we found misses the one rule that matters.
  • Security rejected the vendor's webhook bridge into our billing system.
  • The new app must ship with zero third-party dependencies.

Where new builds go wrong

Plugins built for average customers

An off-the-shelf plugin cannot enforce your sector's data residency rule or flag the fields GDPR Article 9 treats as special-category data, so that logic needs custom code.

Every feature costs more

When every part of a build is a one-off, nothing carries over: each feature needs fresh components and analytics events, and each release its own manual steps.

Code only its author understands

Until decisions are written down, a custom build lives in its author's head. When that developer leaves, your team pays to relearn the codebase before changing anything.

Foundations first, custom code where it pays

Most of our development work starts with a foundation pass, before any feature. Shared components, the content model, analytics naming, the deploy pipeline and a rehearsed rollback are set up once and reused, so each later feature costs less. Architecture decisions get short written records that survive a change of team.

We write custom code only where buying fails. For WordPress features that means checking five build signals first, and often shipping a small bridge plugin instead of a full build. Inside the code, assistants draft tests, boilerplate, migration scripts and first-pass docs under review, while sensitive paths are written by hand.

shared foundations before features

Products and platforms

Customer-facing products built from your specification or an idea we scope with you. The engineers who write the code also run its security review before launch.

Custom WordPress plugins

Focused plugins, or bridges that add your one missing rule to a mature plugin. Each passes our eight-point security gate and gets written documentation before release.

Private system integrations

Custom connections to in-house billing engines, internal ERPs and audit-controlled identity providers that no plugin can see, built when your security team refuses a vendor's webhook bridge.

Internal tools

Admin consoles, reviewer tools and other software your staff use every day get the treatment of any production interface: written success metrics and a proper on-call rota.

What the build leaves behind

  • Proposal listing scope, milestones, owners and exclusions
  • Decision records explaining why each pattern exists
  • Tested component library and editor-friendly content model
  • One deploy path for hotfixes and releases, plus rollback drills
  • Runbooks and on-call setup for your team

How a new build runs

Kickoff week to handoff

  1. Kickoff week

We read your spec and code, interview stakeholders, agree a plan of record, cut scope in a day-four workshop and write the plan on day five.

    Duration
    Week 1
    Result
Written plan with agreed scope cuts
    • Interviews
    • Scope
  2. Foundation pass

Before feature work we set up the shared base and repository rules, including CODEOWNERS entries that route sensitive paths to a security reviewer and keep assistants out.

    Duration
    Before features
    Result
A base for cheaper later features
    • Pipeline
    • CODEOWNERS
  3. Milestone builds

Features ship one milestone at a time, at a fixed fee where scope allows. After each, you test working software and decide what comes next and what waits.

    Duration
    Per milestone
    Result
Tested software before the next milestone
    • Milestones
    • Testing
  4. Launch and handoff

Release follows a final security review, then a written handoff to your team. A retainer of 2-8 hours a week is common for the first quarter.

    Duration
    Final milestone
    Result
A product your team can run
    • Handoff
    • Retainer

Commissioning a build

Fixed fee per milestone

For a settled specification. Each milestone has agreed scope and deliverables, so you know what every slice costs before it starts.

Time and materials

Suits product work where the brief shifts once real users react. We name the model at kickoff and keep to it.

Embedded team

Works when you have engineers but need more hands or experience. We pair-program, join your stand-ups and commit to your repository.

You get a fixed quote after a 30-minute scoping call.

Questions before a build

When is a custom WordPress plugin worth building?

Build when two or more of five signals apply: regulation the vendor never modelled, private systems no plugin reaches, overhead on a critical page, your own IP, climbing licence fees. Otherwise a mature plugin, perhaps with a small bridge, usually costs less. See our build-or-buy framework.

What security checks must a custom plugin pass?

Eight: capability checks on privileged actions, nonce verification on forms and AJAX calls, sanitised input and escaped output, prepared statements, validated upload paths, integrity hashes on externally hosted assets, autoload off for options not needed on each request, and a disclosure policy in writing.

Will AI-generated code end up in our product?

Some will, under repository rules. Any pull request an assistant touched gets human review, strict static analysis, tests on changed lines and, for sensitive code, a security reviewer. Authentication, payments, cryptography and personal data stay AI-off through CODEOWNERS. See our AI coding field notes.

Can you build software with no third-party dependencies?

Yes. If security demands it, we write the app by hand, without frameworks or AI suggestions, and your team can audit every line. It is slower, so we keep it for work where auditability matters most. See our case for hand-written code.

What should we check before signing with you?

Run our 12-point vendor checklist on us, as we ask clients to. Call two references we did not choose and read the IP and exit clauses. The due diligence checklist lists all twelve points and seven questions for each reference call.

I got to know Vadim after many recommendations from colleagues and from the web itself about site maintenance and fixing critical problems. My site had been dragging those problems along for a long time, losing a lot of money, but then Vadim came along and bought me peace of mind, and financial peace too.
In the first minute of our first call he found the problem that 3 professionals before him had failed to find, and after a short description of the fault he solved it super-professionally and decisively. Vadim now handles every problem and all ongoing maintenance on the site. I warmly recommend him to anyone running an e-commerce site for ongoing maintenance: he handles requests courteously and genuinely wholeheartedly. Excellent service, fast replies and super professional.

Many thanks to Vadim for his immediate help fixing a critical error on my site. Sadly, to this day I have had no answer from the site's technical team or from the hosting company. I started searching Google for a WordPress repair expert and, luckily, found Vadim's name and the recommendations of his work. The moment he got my request he started working on the site and got it running properly again. He worked professionally and with dedication, and I am very grateful.

As someone who works in customer service and came from the US, I have to say I ran into a lot of service problems in Israel. Meeting Vadim changed my mind.
Helpful, professional like no one else, available 24/7, personal attention out of this world, and I got a product I am more than proud of - all genuinely thanks to Vadim. I will recommend you to everyone, and hats off for the professionalism and everything you stand for, which is so hard to find in our small country. Keep it up, my friend.

While searching online for a WordPress developer, I came across Vadim's name.
It was a great choice: he updated a theme that had not been supported for years,
fixed the bugs, added the features I wanted and improved the site's performance
and its Google ranking. Vadim is patient, courteous and professional, and has an answer

I met Vadim after my web developer disappeared and gave me no urgent answer to fix bugs on the site. Vadim was very attentive and answered straight away, even at 11 pm. He did not solve it on the spot, but he did everything he could.
The next day he fixed not only that specific fault but all the code that had not been written properly.
Highly recommended!!

I warmly recommend Vadim! I found him online while looking for a WordPress expert to fix a fault on my site, on the eve of a holiday. And I really did find an expert! He did not leave the site, which he had never seen before, until everything was fixed to my complete satisfaction.
Thank you so much, Vadim!
